Prop design is a favourite area for me and I was very lucky to design many props for Dune 2 and the Netflix show Black Doves which can be seen in their respective areas on the website (or will be once I get permission to show!) Below are a sample of some other props, either personal projects or from other films/tv done over the years. I’m also a co-founder of a creative engineering agency DESIGN.BUILD.WOW where more examples of work can be seen.

The first project (below) is a design for a portable DNA scanner, created for my tutorial: ‘Designing Sci-Fi Props for Film,’ available now at the Gnonom Workshop.

A pair of futuristic mini-binoculars. I always loved Luke’s in Star Wars so wanted to create my own. Modelled in Fusion from a concept sketch (below) in Photoshop.

A boar mask created for a TV show, sculpted in Zbrush plus initial design sketches (below) in Photoshop. I believe about thirty of these were 3D printed and finished with gold-effect before the scene they were needed for was cut from the script.

A fun robot costume design for an advertising campaign for the search engine tool ‘Answer The Public’. The costume was designed as multiple pieces to fit a specific actress.
